Welcome to Snowy Owls

We’re very excited for the year we have ahead of us here in the Snowy Owls, and look forward to working together with you and your child for a happy and successful year 2!

Mrs Henshall is the class teacher and we are very fortunate to have the support of Miss Blackwell-Price as well.

As well as this, our What We are Learning page will be updated each half-term to explain the learning that will take place throughout the half term.

Reading

Reading will link to our new phonics and English scheme. More details to follow.

P.E

Our P.E sessions will be on Wednesdays and Fridays. One session each week will be taught by a specialist coach.

Please ensure children have their P.E kit in for all P.E sessions and warm clothes for colder days.

Please provide a note/speak to school if your child is unable to do P.E, otherwise children will be expected to join in.

Please provide children with plasters if they are unable to remove earrings for lessons.

Supporting at home

A big aspect of maths in Year 2 is to learn the 2, 5 and 10 times tables, as well as corresponding division facts.

Children have home login details for: Oxford Owl, Times Table Rock Stars, Language Angels and Charanga.

Toast

Toast will be available every morning break time for your child to have as a snack. This will be 20p per day/ £1 per week.
