Collective worship is an important part of life at Bishop Martin CE Primary and reflects our mission of “Learning Together, Growing in Faith.” It provides a special opportunity for our whole school community to come together, pause, reflect and explore our Christian faith and the values that guide how we live and learn together.

Our worship is enriched by the involvement of visiting clergy from our parish, who regularly lead worship, share Bible stories and help us to explore our faith in meaningful and age-appropriate ways. This strong link with our parish helps children to understand that they are part of a wider Christian family and community, both within school and beyond it.

Collective worship plays an important role in developing our sense of belonging. It brings pupils, staff, clergy and our wider school community together as one family, creating shared experiences, traditions and opportunities for prayer and reflection. It reminds us that, although we are all individuals, we belong to something bigger than ourselves.

Through collective worship, we encourage children to develop faith, hope, compassion, courage and respect, while giving them opportunities to reflect on how these values can influence their choices and relationships with others. It is a valued part of our school week and helps us to live out our commitment to learning together and growing in faith.
