Geography 2023-2024
Year 4 have been exploring the countries and cities within the United Kingdom. The children have been furthering their map reading skills and labeling the countries, regions, counties and cities.
KS1 Geography - United Kingdom
Year 1/2 have been learning how to use Digimaps to locate human and physical features in the United Kingdom. We were Geography detectives and used aerial photographs to recognise landmarks and basic human and physical features.

Autumn Walk
This week we went on an autumn walk around school and through our Values gardens. The children listened to what they could hear and we discussed the changes around our environment. We collected lots of natural resources to complete our Maths activity back in class.

Seasonal Walk
The children in Year 1 learnt all about Autumn and looked out for signs of Autumn on our seasonal walk.
Our School Ground
The children have studied our school grounds during our geography lessons this term. We have been making messy maps of the classroom, using keys to read maps and we learnt all about directional language then applied our knowledge by directing the Bee Bots around a map.
Year 1 have been having lots of fun learning about our local area; making messing maps and learning the compass directions.
Our Spring Walk
Seasons
Year 1 really enjoyed using their knowledge of the seasons to help them plan a weather report. They had to think carefully about the season that they were given and select the correct weather symbols for that season. They reported on all of the countries in the UK (England, Scotland, Wales and Norther Ireland).
KS2 Geography
Map Reading
Year Six have been looking at the United Kingdom in Geography. They used a number of different maps to locate counties within the United Kingdom, they enjoyed using their map reading skills to fill in missing counties on a map of the United Kingdom.
