Home Learning - Introduction
This section has been developed to support families who are currently at home for a sustained period (due to self-isolation, social distancing etc).
NO amount of distance learning content can replace the quality of learning your children would be receiving in school. What we have tried to do below is provide parents/carers with a ‘resource bank’ of learning activities that are purposeful and relevant to our children and practical and reasonable for you to supervise them with.

Online Subscriptions
The school has access to:
- ‘Times Tables Rockstars’ - Y2-Y6 (Maths Resource)
- 'Charanga' (Music Resource) - Update: Charanga now has a dedicated Music at Home section for your use.

Your child will have their own log-in for these resources. If you’re not sure what they are then please either ring the school office or use the Contact Us form available at the bottom of this page under Useful Links and we can remind you.
30-45 minutes per day, on each of these platforms will be a good, bare minimum, base of work to start from.

LPDS
Lancashire Professional Development Service has launched the Learning Excellence YouTube channel.
Weekly videos will be uploaded filled with tips, games and activities to assist parents and carers with home learning.

Oak National Academy
Oak National Academy is an online classroom specifically set up to support home learning at this time.
Teachers will guide you to specific resources through their class pages but you are able to view and use any of the resources they have available.

BBC Bitesize has always been a class favourite with its fun games and engaging videos.
It is now offering an extended service, which includes daily lessons presented by teachers and some familiar TV personalities.

Western Approaches HQ have prepared a series of 'Isolation History Lessons' to be streamed live each week from a WWII bunker. These lessons are aimed at primary aged children but will interesting for all of the family.

Modern Foreign Language
Ttake a look at the Oak National Academy lesson 'Introduce Yourself to Spanish'.
In it you'll learn about the Spanish alphabet and numbers. Then ask someone's name and answer that question about yourself. Finally, you'll be able to ask someone how old they are and be able to tell them your age.
